Lunch debate with Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres
On Monday, March 20, 2023, Les Coulisses de l'art received Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, former Minister of Culture and Communication. He played an important role in the defense and influence of culture, by launching bold initiatives in favor of artistic creation and the protection of heritage.
He was notably one of the main architects of the historic agreement between France and the United Arab Emirates for the founding of the Louvre Abu Dhabi. This partnership, which allowed the export of French expertise and art collections to Abu Dhabi, was based on a collaboration between the Louvre and several French cultural institutions.
Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres supported this ambitious project with the aim of promoting dialogue between cultures and strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries. Opened in 2017, the Louvre Abu Dhabi has thus become the first universal museum in the Arab world, illustrating the richness of art and heritage from different civilizations.
