Two DOGNIN bags acquired by the Palais Galliera
Interested in the innovative nature of two bags from the DOGNIN collection, the Palais Galliera, the fashion museum of the City of Paris, acquired one of each of these models to include them in the museum's collections.
These are the VENDÔME and the MARIVAUX, two bags that hold workshop secrets. Their assembly is derived from shoe manufacturing techniques, which are stretched over rigid molds to obtain the desired shape.
So these two bags are themselves molded on wooden forms: we have developed specific know-how to adapt this technique to the production of bags. The volumes thus obtained are the exact imprint of the mold used.
The VENDÔME is the expression of a pure oval volume. The MARIVAUX is derived from it, with the addition of a zip fastening for the MARIVAUX, an allusion to the feminine corset of yesteryear.
The technique developed for these two bags was a step on the path that led to the development of an innovative process for obtaining flexible leather, currently being launched: https://dognin.paris/pages/le-club-dognin
