La Belle est venue

The Beauty has come

A fanciful digression on the theme of ancient Egypt, at the invitation of the BIJORHCA Salon…

Since the dawn of time, adornment has been a part of man's life! A clever mix of the trio Affirmation - Seduction - Sublimation, adornment tends to reflect the personality of the wearer!

Jewelry, fabrics, bags, shoes, the ideal set highlights, reveals the person. In this delicious little game of "I wear therefore I am" each element of the set participates in the identification of the being. Look at me and you will be who I am. Before any other people, ancient Egypt granted a primordial role to jewelry and finery, a role of protection and especially of social positioning.

The country of Khepri thus developed a language of ornament of incredible lexicological diversity. Richness of motifs, materials, and models: gold, silver, lapis lazuli, jasper, carnelian, leather… bracelet, pectoral, crown, headdress and other wigs of braided horsehair or papyrus, decorated with flowers and perfumed cones.

Nothing is too beautiful or too ingenious to sublimate the person. The more important, powerful and close to earthly or sacred power the person is, the more the language and codes of "fashion" are imposed on them. In this sense, pectorals, wigs and crowns appear as "must-haves", manifesting the beauty, and therefore the importance, of the one who wears them.
