Made in France in question at Ifm
On Monday March 13, 2023, an exchange organized at the French Fashion Institute as part of the IFM ALUMNI focused on the challenges of Made in France, in partnership with the CCI Paris and the Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Création.
Luc Dognin had the honor of hosting this debate with Amandine Dubessay, Head of the Fashion and Creation sector at the CCI Paris and General Delegate of Paris Capitale de la Création. A first round table brought together Laurent Marck (Vice-President of UFIMH and General Manager of Marck & Balsan), Christian Bassot (General Manager of OURAGAN), Karine Piffeteau and Maximilien Ripoche (respectively Director of Development and Director of Operations of RESILIENCE). The discussions focused on the developments of Made in France and the current opportunities for young structures as well as SMEs to embark on a French production approach or to strengthen it.
A second round table brought together three entrepreneurs who are experimenting with Made in France, in whole or in part: Delphine Lasbordes and the leather goods brand THYRS, Davy Dao and his eponymous DAO jeans brand based in Nancy, as well as Robin Khayat who is working on the revival of the Blanc-Bleu Maison de mer brand. Where it is demonstrated that French manufacturing is an issue that is as exciting as it is complex, which requires a desire to do (and iron!) at every moment as much as a long-term vision.
