The Vendôme and the Marivaux at Galliera
The VENDÔME and the MARIVAUX hold workshop secrets. Assembly of them is derived from shoemaking techniques, whereby shoes are stretched over rigid moulds or “lasts” to obtain the desired shape.
Thus, these two bags are themselves moulded over wooden forms: we have developed specific know-how in order to adapt this technique to making bags. The resulting volumes are the exact imprints of the forms used.
The VENDÔME is the expression of a pure oval volume.
The MARIVAUX is derived from it, with an allusion to the old-fashioned women’s corset.
Interested by the innovative nature of the resulting volumes, the Palais Galliera, the Paris Fashion Museum, acquired a copy of each of these models to add them to its collections.
• The MARIVAUX is closed by a zip
• Inside: a suede leather lining
• Inner bag made of fabric, closed by draw strings, and removable by means of press studs
